I've been on several snowshoe trips in the WA Cascades since getting this watch. The altimeter is pretty much dead-on accurate when compared to my GPS and USGS maps. Calibration is simple. The display makes it easy to check altitude when on the move and helps pinpoint your location on the trail.I've played with the compass only a little. I always carry a magnetic compass when in the back country so I haven't had to rely on the watch. Good to have as a backup though.The solar feature is nice. I never have to worry about changing the battery. The charge indicator has never read anything but high, even here in cloudy Seattle.The atomic feature seems to work about 5 days a week with the watch in the same location every night. When I was in Denver the signal was much stronger as would be expected.I'm very happy with this watch and would buy it again if anything happens to it.

Strengths:	The face is much thinner than the original and much lighter too. The atomic time keeping is great for frequent travelers.
Weaknesses:	The crystal is still easily scratched. A protective film like for a hand held device or digital camera screen would be nice.

I inspect bridges for a living and usually find myself climbing in harsh conditions. I also enjoy camping whenever possible so the features on this watch are perfect for my needs. As a gift several years ago, my wife gave me the previous model for bridge work and I used it every day, especially the compass and barometer features. Eventually, the resin band (which took one heck of a beating every day) broke and my watch met an untimely death as it fell from the top of a bridge down to the deck. I believe it survived the fall, but before I could get down to grab it, a semi finished it off. Recently, I saw this new model in a magazine and instantly wanted the thinner face as the older one was pretty bulky. Again, my wife gave it to me as a gift and it has not left my wrist. It still has the same great features, now even easier to navigate; the thinner face is much lighter; and the atomic time keeping is great for frequent travel to different time zones. Fantastic product.

Strengths:	Packed with alot of features like the old pathfinder, along with the benefits or atomic time and solar power. Not as big as the older pathfinder.

I have the old pathfinder which is still a great watch. This watch is smaller in size, and has a thinner case, which is a plus. This watch has the same features as the old one, but has the atomic time as well. I also have a g-shock atomic time solar watch which is awesome. So when the pathfinder came out with one, I had to get one. You never have to worry about your watch losing time anymore. Add the solar power feature to it, and you have the perfect all around watch. Great buy.
